William is a registered architect, who trained at Canterbury School of Architecture and the Mackintosh School of Architecture. It was whilst at the Mackintosh School of Architecture that William first properly discovered his love of illustration. The first book that William contributed to was ‘Commerzbank Frankfurt - Prototype for an Ecological High Rise’, published by Watermark Publications / Birkhäuser. The drawings were meticulously created by hand on tracing paper, with multiple sheets of information per drawing to facilitate colour separation.
Nowadays, the majority of William’s drawings are prepared digitally using Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, and SketchUp. Clients are issued with vector AI or PDF files for direct inclusion in material for publication.
In 2013, William decided to pursue illustration full-time, adding 2D and technical illustration to his repertoire, and is now hugely experienced at creating bespoke illustrations for operation manuals, information graphics and technical illustrations.
